Just over one year ago, I could barely run 200 meters. I was still feeling
the effects of
stage two bowel cancer, facing one of the hardest battles of my life. But today, I'm
training for not one — but two full marathons to raise vital funds for The Christie
Charity.
This campaign is called Run Again, because that's exactly what I’m doing — literally and
symbolically. It’s about resilience, recovery, and the power of second chances.
When you participate in the Run Again campaign you are sponsoring the training and
determination to attempt to run two marathons, not the finishers medals. When I was
diagnosed, I did not know what the outcome would be, and nor does anyone else who is
fighting cancer. I do not know if I will be able to run two marathons within two weeks,
but I will remain positive and try my best. If this raises money for the good work The
Christie is doing, then I will have been successful, and the miles covered will have
been worth it.
